2024 San Antonio Congenital Heart Walk

Our son Ezra Gael Tamez was born with challenges from his first day of life he went to the NICU and then the children's heart ICU where we quickly discovered how many heart surgeries he would need just to keep living. He had a condition which would last his lifetime- a small left side if his heart. Ezra was in and out of the hospital for his surgeries and the complications after for the next 16 months. Later we discovered his rare genetic condition and finally a rare childrens liver cancer. Even with a great team Ezra could not continue longer with so many challenges.

Ezra was a quiet baby when things were tough but who was happy and curious with a big smile and would laugh in any moments he could.

I am thankful for every moment he was given- but he should have had more. The ones he had should not have been so difficult. He and other babies and kids need our support to keep living and keep thriving.

My commitment to making a difference has led me to participate in the Congenital Heart Walk, an event that carries immense significance for me. It's not just a walk; it's a stride toward changing lives. This endeavor is all about supporting The Children's Heart Foundation and their crucial mission - advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects through groundbreaking research.
