Welcome to my fundraising page! I will be running the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K to empower children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Team One Step supports Camp One Step by Children's Oncology Services, an organization that operates camps and other recreational and educational experiences for children who have been diagnosed with cancer. One Step Programs aim to cure the spirit by providing an environment of hope, strength, and empowerment. During the pandemic, Camp One Step pivoted to offer virtual camps so now they can serve more children than ever before- even in their hospital beds.
When I was living in Boston, I had the priviledge of working every other weekend on the Hematology/Oncology unit at Boston Children's Hospital. Something I realized while working at BCH was the community that is built amongst the caregivers, patients, and staff. This charity is important to me because I want the kids to have an outlet where they can be kids and start to heal from the emotional and social scars that one might experience during their treatment.
