A Beacon of Light for Girls and Boys Amidst the Darkness in Ukraine

As the war in Ukraine rages into its third year, weariness is etched on the faces of those unable to flee. Relentless missile attacks have crippled over half of Ukraine's power generation since 2022, leaving vulnerable communities increasingly helpless. Rolling blackouts now compound the harsh realities of rising poverty, fuel costs, and food prices.

For young students facing exams, online schooling is impossible, and homework must be done by flashlight or candlelight. Village programs for war-affected youth must either adapt to rudimentary conditions or cease entirely.

In one village that became a haven for internally displaced families and youth, almost 2,000 displaced children had nowhere to go. Despite lacking resources and infrastructure, House of Youth was born – a safe place for teens to meet and share the traumas of living in a warzone and not feel so alone. It also became a place to escape harsh weather and bitter cold. Without power, House of Youth – the only gathering place for vulnerable children in its village – must close, putting these young lives at even greater risk.

ChildVoice has partnered with House of Youth to train and assist them in applying our field-tested Youth Empowerment Center model that will bring hope and healing to the war-affected youth in this village.

Your Gift Can Bring Light to the Darkness!

For fifteen years, ChildVoice riders at RAGBRAI have raised thousands of dollars for life-changing projects worldwide. This year, you can become a beacon of light for war-affected kids in Ukraine. As a member of ChildVoice’s 2024 team, we have committed to raise $20,000 to provide an independent power system for the House of Youth Center that will power the center during blackouts and keep its vital programs open to girls and boys in their community.

Join us as we partner with House of Youth in bringing hope to the youth of this village!
