Walk of Remembrance: Miles for Margaret, Lydia and All Babies Gone Too Soon
Join us for the second annual Walk of Remembrance: Miles for Margaret, Lydia and All Babies Gone Too Soon. This walk will take place to honor babies who have died due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal or infant loss, as well as raise awareness and funds for Count the Kicks. Everyone is invited to walk the steps our babies will never take, as we carry them with us in our hearts.
The 2020 event will be held virtually due to COVID-19. There will not be a central walk location, but individuals, teams and donors can continue to participate, give and raise awareness for Count the Kicks.
Please like our Facebook page for updates. On Saturday, October 17th, we will have a Facebook Live presentation that includes a reading of loved and missed babies' names. Following this short presentation, or anytime that weekend, we invite participants to walk a one mile reflective walk in their own communities to honor babies lost to perinatal, neonatal, and infant death. Please share photos with us on social media using the hashtags #chswalk2020 and #countthekicks.
All proceeds from this event will go towards Count the Kicks and their mission to save babies. Count the Kicks is an evidence-based stillbirth prevention public health campaign that encourages expectant parents to track their baby’s movements daily in the third trimester of pregnancy and contact their healthcare provider right away if there is a change in what’s normal for their baby. Counting kicks during the third trimester is especially critical during the COVID-19 pandemic when regular prenatal appointments may occur less frequently than normal.
