Cincinnati Congenital Heart Walk

This year, we will be participating in the Congenital Heart Walk on Meadow's 2nd birthday as we celebrate our gratitude that she is able to be here with us today.

At 36 weeks pregnant, we unexpectedly found out that Meadow had four severe congenital heart defects that are known together as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. She endured her first heart surgery at just 6 days old, and her second more extensive open heart surgery was performed at 4 months old. Meadow will continue having open heart surgeries throughout the remainder of her life due to the fact that she has an artifical heart valve that will need to be replaced as she grows.

After becoming a heart mom and nearly losing Meadow during her second surgery, our family's mission has been to honor children like her by giving back to others - via organizations like the Children's Heart Foundation! By walking with this organization we are supporting all the things that matter most to our family: awareness of the most common birth defect, funding to support better research, and ideally one day even better outcomes (and hopefully less surgeries!)
