Thank You for Supporting Our AmeriCorps Members
The Starry Night: A Virtual Bright Spot campaign and event celebrated our incredible AmeriCorps members, their dedication to service, and the important support they’re providing to Boston Public School students in virtual classrooms. Their service and their impact would not be possible without the generosity of our valued partners and the ongoing support of the City Year Boston community. Thank you!
The Starry Night campaign and virtual event raised critical funds needed to support our AmeriCorps members service. So far, the Starry Night campaign has raised nearly $560,000 towards our goal of $2 million to help ensure that when the new school year starts, Boston Public School students will have a City Year tutor, mentor, and role model to rely on.
We’ve made great progress towards our fundraising goal – but we still need your support. If you are able, please make your gift online before June 30!
What Does Virtual Service Look Like?
The Need for Our AmeriCorps Members Has Never Been Greater
As you can imagine, Boston’s students & families have been presented with tremendous challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Schools are closed, but the learning must go on. City Year AmeriCorps members are dedicated tutors, mentors, and role models for Boston’s youth. Currently, they’re providing academic support in virtual classrooms & assisting teachers navigate this new virtual learning space. When students do go back to school, they – and teachers – will need all the support we can give them. City Year AmeriCorps members’ service will be needed more than ever in the next school year.
While we’re unable to gather together in-person as we typically do each spring to celebrate the impact of our incredible young leaders, we are continuing the tradition of celebrating their service & our valued partners with Starry Night: A Virtual Bright Spot. Our canceled fundraising events means the need for your support is greater than ever at a time when our AmeriCorps members’ service to students, teachers, & schools is truly invaluable.
Help power our AmeriCorps members service and donate to our Starry Night campaign.
