Why CKc?

A child is diagnosed with cancer every minute, worldwide.

There are 12 types of childhood cancer and hundreds of subtypes. Each requires specialized treatment development.

Most kids with cancer will have serious side-effects to cancer treatment such as hearing loss, stunted growth, digestive issues and secondary cancers.

While the medicine that kids are given to treat their cancer can get rid of the disease, it also damages other parts of the body. So most kids will have significant side effects.

Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation (CKc) helps kids with cancer by raising money for scientific research that creates new, less-toxic treatments for kids that will treat their cancer without damaging the rest of their body.

CKc’s total investment in childhood cancer research surpasses $4.5 million. Every dollar donated fuels CKc’s mission to conquer childhood cancers and create a brighter future for young patients and their families.

94% of CKc-funded clinical trials are first-of-their-kind in the US. To date, CKc has awarded 40 research grants creating 922 options for treatment for children in 35 states, DC, Canada, Scotland, and Switzerland.
