Raising money for charity is never easy. Reaching out to friends, family, and colleagues to ask for support can feel uncomfortable. But every now and then, a cause comes along that tugs at your heart more strongly than the awkwardness of asking others to give.
For me, that cause is Cannonball Kids’ Cancer Foundation (CKc).
When I was first asked to run this marathon to raise money for CKc, my immediate thought was no. I’ve run one marathon before and swore it would be my first and last. The idea of training for another — and asking people I know for donations — was not appealing.
But after learning more about CKc and the incredible work they do to fund pediatric cancer research and provide treatment options for children fighting cancer, I knew I had to say yes.
As someone blessed with three healthy, wonderful children, I feel compelled to do my small part to help families who are facing what no parent ever should — watching their child battle cancer.
Please join me in supporting pediatric cancer research and helping provide better treatment options for kids fighting for their lives. Any amount you can donate will make a difference.
