Hi friends and family! 

As some of you might know, I am a sophomore this year at Miami University studying Speech-Language Pathology! This year, I joined a club called College Mentors for Kids. I am a mentor to a "little buddy", who comes to campus one afternoon a week from a nearby elementary school. During this time we read and reflect on a "book of the week", do an activity, and have a topic of the week (over careers, culture and diversity, community service, etc...) that we reflect on together. 

It has been so rewarding for me to build a relationship with my buddy, and other buddies, see them all grow and learn, and see their excitement to come back every week!

As a mentor I have a fundraising goal of $100 for the year! This is to help with transportation costs for the buddies to get to campus, materials for activities, and snacks. It would mean so much to me if you considered making a donation to help me meet my fundraising goal! Your contribution will allow us to continue this program on our campus so that we can make an even greater impact on these kids who need it.

"It's a hard time to be a kid. With all kinds of negative peer pressures, it's tough to navigate without a caring adult to help them through. Many of the kids we serve have added challenges; most of them live in poverty or low-income homes, and more than 80% of them don't have a family history of higher education. 

Luckily, College Mentors for Kids provides college student mentors to serve as positive role models for these kids and open their eyes to new opportunities, helping them to create new visions for their futures.

College Mentors for Kids is an innovative non-profit that brings elementary school kids to college campuses once a week and matches them one-on-one with college student mentors. Little buddies have an opportunity to explore potential pathways for their futures alongside supportive mentors. Our program transforms lives inspiring 75% of our little buddies to attend college or trade school after graduation"
