Why Should You Donate to College Mentors For Kids at NCSU?
This year I have the opportunity to serve as the Vice President of Programming for College Mentors for Kids at NC State.
This program provides college student mentors to serve as positive role models for these kids and open their eyes to new opportunities, helping them to create new visions for their futures. Each week we meet with our little buddies one-on-one and learn about our community, diversity, and careers!!
College Mentors for Kids at NC State has already helped so many little buddies since it started in 1997!! 80% of former little buddies graduated high school (higher than the national average of 73.3%)!!! 75% of former little buddies attended some sort of further education (national average was 50.9% in 2012)!!! 95% of former little buddies avoid the criminal justice system (20% of youth from of low-income families are charged with violent crimes by the age of 24)!!! AMAZING RIGHT?
Unfortunately, I can't be the Vice President and do all of these things without your help! Please consider making a donation to help me meet my fundraising goal of $210! Any donation is appreciated and your contribution will allow us to continue this program on the NC State campus, and give us the ability to continue to make a greater positive impact on these kids who need it.
