Moments after I walked into Butler's student involvement fair, I met Butler's College Mentors for Kids team and I was hooked. I interviewed for an opportunity to mentor a little buddy, and I am beyond excited to say that I have been paired with a bright, curious, and inquisitive first grader from an Indianapolis public school.

Every Tuesday, I get the opportunity to participate in engaging activities with her and connect with other mentors and buddies. I love learning with my buddy about careers, culture and diversity, and community service. It has always been important to me to give back to the community, and I'm blessed to have this opportunity in my new home. 

Many of the kids we serve in College Mentors for Kids have added challenges; most of them live in poverty or low-income homes, and more than 80% of them don't have a family history of higher education. 

College Mentors for Kids provides college student mentors to serve as positive role models for these kids and open their eyes to new opportunities, helping them to create new visions for their futures. 

I can't do all of this without your help, though. College Mentors for Kids is completely free to our little buddies, and it is with your help we can continue to mentor without any financial burden to our buddy families.  Please consider making a donation to help me meet my fundraising goal!
