As most of you know, I have been a long distance bicycle rider for more than 25 years.. This September I will be participating in a 66 mile bike ride on Saturday, September 7, 2024 beginning in the City of Gloucester, MA. This event is called "Coast to the Cure" which is raising money for Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder disease. NF is the most common genetic disorder caused by a single gene. NF can cause uncontrolled tumor growth along the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. Manifestations of NF include disfigurement, blindness, learning disabilities, deafness, brain tumors, seizures and cancer. This organization and their event have become really important to me. The granddaughter of one of my bike riding friends has this genetic disorder and I’m working hard to support them.
