College Mentors for Kids has been a super meaningful experience for me this year. My little buddy is curious, smart, funny, and creative. Each week, she and some of her peers travel to Butler where they spend a few hours with their mentors. As a group, we engage in play, conversation, and creativity. We listen to guest speakers, journal, make art, and learn about our communities, potential careers, and the importance of celebrating diversity and culture. My goal as a mentor is to create a space where my little buddy feels valued, encouraged, and empowered. This program has helped me grow as well; I have learned so much from my little buddy and am inspired by her tenacity!
