Did you know that mentoring transforms lives? Research shows that kids with mentors view themselves and their futures more positively than those without mentors. Not only do they view themselves in a more confident light, but they also achieve more positive outcomes in school, the workplace, and their communities. We all know that growing up is challenging, but, with a mentor, it’s a little easier. And that’s exactly why We’ve chosen to be volunteer with College Mentors.

College Mentors for Kids connects kids to college students through weekly on-campus activities that inspire growth, confidence, and brighter futures. We are so lucky to be able to be doing this together.

This year Sydney has the wonderful opportunity of being President of the Purdue Chapter of College Mentors for Kids. This has been a challenging yet rewarding task. Sydney is enjoying volunteering on this new platform because she gets to see the relationships of the little buddies form with their mentors on a much larger scale. We have the opportunity to attend almost every single activity and watch our mentors nurture their relationships.  The impact the little buddies make on our lives is as big as the impact we have on the little buddies. The mutual growth and impact we have on each other is why Sydney loves this organization. Evan joined College Mentors this year as a mentor to a 6th grade little buddy.

Evan enjoys not only getting to mentor his little buddy and do fun activities with him but also enjoys getting to witness him learn new things and dream big dreams. Evan chose to be apart of this organization to help his little buddy learn that he can do anything he sets his mind too.
