Did you know that mentoring transforms lives? It is proven that kids with mentors gain more optimistic views of themselves and what’s to come in their lifetime. Little buddies succeed in school, the workplace, community, and in everyday life. College Mentors for kids allows for a college student to connect with a little buddy, and that connection allows for each individual to grow a significant amount. I decided to join college mentors for kids because I want to make a difference in my little buddies life and learn more about myself during the journey. 

College Mentors for Kids connects kids to college students through weekly activities. Even though COVID-19 has temporarily caused College Mentors for Kids to meet with their little buddies online, the influence of this program is no less.

I’ve had symbolic experiences with kids throughout my high school career and I can’t wait to apply my skills towards this program. Whether it was babysitting, lifeguarding, or coaching, I have always enjoyed working with kids. Knowing that I have the ability to make even the slightest difference in a child’s life is what makes my participation in College Mentors for Kids so worth it. Not only am I going to help my little buddy explore the world, but my little buddy is going to help me grow as a person too. I am so excited to give back to my community and learn more about myself and my little buddy!
