For My Birthday, I’m Asking for Something Bigger Than Gifts

This year, I’m dedicating my birthday to raising funds and support for Tuesday’s Children, an organization whose mission reasonated with me so much, I moved across the country to lead it.

Tuesday’s Children provides services to 9/11 families, 9/11 1st responders, and families who have a miiltary service connected loss.

Our goal is simple: to reduce isolation, enhance resilience, and provide real opportunities for those navigating unimaginable loss.

Today, I want to tell you about a 15-year-old young man in Maryland who has been with Tuesday’s Children since he was just 8. Every year, he shows up—suit and all—for “Bring Your Child to Work Day” on Capitol Hill. His dream is to follow in his father’s footsteps: attend West Point, become an Army Ranger, and serve as a medic. Tragically, he lost his father in a parachuting accident when he was an infant. Now, he’s waiting for a mentor—a strong, steady male presence to help guide his path.

And he’s not alone.
We currently have 16 youth on our mentorship waiting list from California to Virginia—each of them dealing with the loss of a parent due to military service.

For my birthday, I’m asking for two things:

1. Donate if you can. Your contribution helps us build supportive communities around the country, personalized/holistic programming, and support services that truly change lives.

2. Become a mentor or help us find one. We’re looking for compassionate, committed individuals who can make a lasting impact on a young person’s life.

Help me celebrate my birthday by helping these incredible families and honoring the legacy of those they’ve lost. Together, we can show them they’re not alone.
