At its heart, Congaree has a philanthropic mission to bring together individuals that share a philanthropic vision and a love for golf to better the lives of deserving young people through the Congaree Foundation. The Foundation' s mission is to positively impact the lives of young people, locally and around the globe, by providing educational and vocational opportunities through the game of golf.
Congaree Foundation does this through a number of programs and partnerships that operate at an international scale and much closer to home, addressing critical needs in the local Jasper County community such as education, professional development and food insecurity.
Its flagship program, the Congaree Global Golf Initiative, is an immersive collegiate preparatory curriculum tailored toward high school students in the U.S. and internationally with week-long sessions hosted at Congaree and in the UK each summer. Students work with a team of educators, advisors, and golf coaches to advance their preparation for the college admissions process and prepare them for success in life.
The CGGI team remains a support system for each student throughout their college journey by providing mentorship and networks to ensure they have the tools for success through school and into early career.
CGGI has 178 participants from 31 countries and 23 states, including 60 age-eligible students who have graduated high school and gone on to play collegiate golf at 53 schools, including College of Charleston, North Carolina A&T, Texas Tech, Texas, Clemson, Cincinnati, Xavier, Southern Miss and Florida Atlantic.
Through a combination of academics and athletics, these students have received more than $3.8 million in scholarship money.
The Congaree Foundation is proud to partner with impactful organizations like First Tee, Underrated Golf, Cameron Champ Foundation, and The Arnold & Winnie Palmer Foundation. These organizations share a similar mission in supporting our next generation through the game of golf.
