Why I'm Conquering the Canyon for the Arizona Burn Foundation;
The Arizona Burn Foundation holds a special place in my heart. When I was 12 I spent about a month in the Burn Center at County Hospital (Valleywise) and several more for rehab and follow up appointments. Reflecting back 20 years later I can say this foundation holds true to their mission and values. ABF played a huge role in my recovery and strengthening both physically and mentally. What they do goes far beyond medical care. I was finally able to walk again after 3 months and while I was no longer in recovery the support kept coming because they truly wanted me to thrive. That’s their motto “Prevent, Support, Thrive” I’m blessed to have been able to attend Camp Courage as a child and also Camp Hope and Camp Connection as an adult. I have benefited greatly from ABF and I’m ready to give back to a group of people that has given so much to me. That is why This year I am taking on the Conquering the Canyon challenge, to help others thrive like ABF helped me.
