Hi! Carla here, Team Captain of Tough Titties! I had cancer (can you guess which kind?) back in 2020, when my partner and I were living in Iowa. Most of my family was/is in Tennessee, and with the pandemic and all, I had a pretty odd, isolated experience of surgery, chemo, and treatment. I did have an incredible support network of friends though, who brought food and flowers to my doorstep and even helped with my medical bills. I definitely couldn't have done it without them.
When I got to Ithaca in early 2022 and discovered CRC, I knew that I was either going to get a job or volunteer with them, and I'm honored beyond words that I'm doing both of those things today.
I'll probably write more later, but that's all for now, since I'm on the clock and trying to get this website up and running. :)
