Leo was diagnosed with a form of childhood epilepsy known as Benign Rolandic Epilepsy (aka BECTS or SELECTS) in May 2020 (age 6). His seizures started off relatively mild and far apart, but increased with frequency and intensity in September 2022. With some lifestyle changes and medication, they are now mostly controlled, but the fear of experiencing another tonic-clonic seizure is still very real and raw. We hope to bring as much attention and support for the individuals and families going through this journey.
