My name is Virginia Sanders, and I am honored to serve as the Vice Chair of the board for Blossom's Animal Sanctuary. This incredible sanctuary holds a special place in my heart as a haven for orphaned and rescued orangutans—a species that faces so many challenges in the wild today. Every day, I am reminded of the resilience and beauty of these animals, and I’m inspired by the work we do to provide them with the care, protection, and dignity they deserve.

My passion for wildlife conservation began years ago when I first learned about the impact of habitat destruction on orangutans and other endangered species. It was heartbreaking to see how human activity could threaten the very existence of such intelligent, gentle creatures. I knew then that I wanted to do more than just admire their beauty—I wanted to be part of the solution. That drive led me to Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary, where I’ve been fortunate to contribute to our mission of creating a safe space for these incredible animals while also advocating for their long-term survival in the wild.

This year, I’m thrilled to take on a new challenge by participating in the "Dancing with the Board" fundraiser. While I can’t claim to be a professional dancer by any means, I’m excited to step out of my comfort zone for a cause that means so much to me. Fundraising for the sanctuary through this event gives me the opportunity to share our work with more people and raise the crucial funds we need to continue providing food, medical care, enrichment, and shelter for the orangutans in our care.

For me, "Dancing with the Board" is more than just a fun event—it’s a way to bring our community together and shine a spotlight on why organizations like Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary are so important. Every donation, every ticket purchased, and every bit of awareness raised translates directly into better care and protection for the orangutans we all care so deeply about. I couldn’t be more excited to put on my dancing shoes and give it my all because I believe in what we’re doing, and I know that, together, we can make a profound difference for animals who truly need our help.
