My name is Astrid Glenn, and I have the honor of serving as the Secretary of the board for Blossom's Animal Sanctuary. Supporting this incredible sanctuary, which provides a safe haven for orphaned and rescued orangutans, is a cause that’s deeply personal to me. These magnificent animals face so many threats, from habitat destruction to illegal wildlife trade, and I believe it’s our responsibility to step up and protect them. Getting involved with Blossom’s has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.

My passion for wildlife conservation began when I was a child, fascinated by the natural world. That passion only grew over the years, leading me to seek ways to make a real difference for vulnerable species. When I learned about Blossom’s mission and the work they do to rescue, rehabilitate, and care for orangutans, I knew I had found a place where I could help. As Secretary of the board, I work closely with an amazing team to support the sanctuary’s operations, advocate for their mission, and ensure we provide the best possible care for the animals who depend on us.

This year, I’m especially excited to participate in our “Dancing with the Board” fundraiser—both as a dancer and a fundraiser! While dancing might be a little out of my comfort zone, I’m thrilled to take on this challenge for such an important cause. Events like this not only help us raise essential funds but also spread awareness about the sanctuary and the critical work we’re doing to protect orangutans. It’s a chance to connect with our community, share our mission, and show just how much impact we can have when we come together.

Being part of Blossom’s Animal Sanctuary has been a life-changing experience for me, and I’m endlessly inspired by the resilience of the orangutans we care for. Participating in this fundraiser is my way of giving back and ensuring that we can continue to provide them with a safe and loving home. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this mission and to have the support of so many who share our vision.
