What is Sparrow Clubs?
About Me!
Meg is a proud native Oregonian, born and raised on a ranch in Eastern Oregon, where her deep love for horses, family, and the ranching lifestyle began. An accomplished horsewoman and journeyman electrician, Megan is also a dedicated small business owner who brings skill, integrity, and heart to every project she takes on. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, where she played rugby for the Beavers, embracing teamwork and resilience both on and off the field. Megan’s passions extend beyond her profession—she’s an avid hiker, softball player, rodeo enthusiast, and traveler, always seeking adventure and connection with the natural world. Rooted in a close-knit family and ranching community, Megan values hard work, loyalty, and giving back. This year, she’s especially excited to participate in the Sparrow Clubs program, where she looks forward to making a meaningful impact in the lives of kids.
About my Hip Hop Coach!
Shannon Abero Guerrero grew up in Northern CA and has been dancing for over 30 years She was inspired by music videos on MTV in the 80’s and loved emulating moves from Janet Jackson to Paula Abdul and more! Shannon didn’t receive formal training until Highschool, where she was on the Cheer, Drill and the Dance Teams. Her older brother, Brian, soon discovered Hip-hop and introduced her younger sister to a class - - the rest is History. After receiving her BA in Psychology at Cal State University of Long Beach, Shannon worked for an AIDS intervention organization for a year, while still dancing on the side. Her love and passion for dance soon became her livelihood after booking a dance agent in Los Angeles. Some of her credentials include: House of Blues, Nike, Memoirs of a Geisha, and The Ellen Show. She has toured with Asian singers and has taught internationally as well. After dancing professionally for a few years in Southern California, Shannon became a dance instructor in Santa Barbara California and currently teaches all across Central Oregon (at The Dance Connection, Sisters Dance Academy & Bend Parks & Rec) sharing her love of dance with all her students! This is her fifth year participating in a Sparrow Clubs fundraiser and she is beyond excited to once again be one of the Pro Hip-hop team coaches! She hopes to raise awareness of the amazing work that Sparrow Clubs of Central Oregon does for our youth!
