Sara would do just about anything to further the mission of Independence Center — to provide community-based rehabilitation mental health services using the Clubhouse model — even putting on previously non-existent dancing shoes and dancing in front of hundreds of people!

Through Independence Center, Sara has taken mental health first-aid training, visited other Clubhouses, and learned more about our community’s resources for support. For Sara, dancing to raise funding and awareness for this important work is truly an honor.

Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, Emerson

Sara was Senior Vice President, Secretary and Chief Legal Officer for Emerson until December 31, 2023. She was named General Counsel in 2016 and named to Emerson’s Office of the Chief Executive, and became Chief Legal Officer in February, 2023. In this role, she was responsible for Emerson’s legal affairs and global security, as well as providing legal counsel on a wide range of matters, such as mergers and acquisitions, compliance, dispute resolution, and corporate and commercial operational matters. As a member of Emerson’s Office of the Chief Executive, Sara helped develop and guide the company’s global business strategies.

Prior to this role, Sara spent over 24 years in Hong Kong, working for law firms before joining Emerson in its Asia operations in 2005, eventually taking on the role of President, Asia Pacific before coming to St. Louis.

Sara has had the privilege of working for this hometown favorite of our corporate community and is proud of carrying on Emerson’s long tradition of supporting the communities where they live and work.
