I awake each day giving thanks to our Healthcare system. Yes, I am one who has health insurance and has been able to access the healthcare system to keep me emotionally, mentally and physically healthy. I am one who has a very caring nurse practioner who listens to me. I am one who has supportive friends assisting me in making tough medical decisions. But, I know there are too many without health insurance, there are too many who struggle to access the sometime confusing healthcare system, there are too many who do not have their voices heard by the workers in the healthcare system and there are too many who do not have a support system. So, yes, I walk to bring attention to the need of Healthcare Equity, so that all may have a meaningful and positive healthcare experience.
