While dealing with the uncertainly of illness or injury, parents of critically ill and injured children are often reluctant to leave the hospital. Ronald McDonald House Charities® Okahoma City provides a home-away-from-home for families who have a sick or injured child receiving medical care in the Oklahoma City area at NO COST to the family.

The Ronald McDonald House® at Oklahoma Children's Hospital provides 40 private rooms for families and is just steps away from the hospital. The House is connected by a skywalk to Oklahoma Children’s Hospital and has laundray facilities, a large kitchen, play area, living areas, and a salon.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room® is located on the 6th Floor of Oklahoma Children’s Hospital at The OU Medical Center. It is a special place where families who live in the local area, as well as families who have traveled long distances and may be staying at the Ronald McDonald House, can rest while staying close to their hospitalized child.

The Ronald McDonald Family Room offers a comfortable home-like setting including a living room area with a television, a kitchen stocked with snacks, showers and a laundry facility. The Ronald McDonald Family Room also has a quiet room for conversation and phone calls in addition to computers to stay in touch with families, friends and workplace responsibilities.

All of these amenities are provided at NO COST to the family.

I have always been aware of RMHC since I was a child and saw the boxes in front of the registers at McDonalds.  It was in college when I became truly aware of what this organization did and how easy it was to be a part of the organization.  I joined Alpha Delta Pi at Oklahoma State University which has been a partner with RMHC since 1979.  Since college I have been able to contribute to RMHC through meals, donations for families and monetary giving.  It has been a blessing to be able to stay connected to an organization and see how they impact so many with a valuable resource of housing during challenging times for the families.  I hope you join me today in giving to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oklahoma City and receive a blessing for helping those in need.
