Duval Charter School at Mandarin & Nemours Children's Speciality Care: Animal-AssistedTherapy (ADAPT)
Partnership & Collaboration Duval Charter School at Mandarin is fundraising for the Assisted Dog and Pony Therapy (ADAPT) program at Nemours Children’s Specialty Care in Jacksonville. ADAPT is a first-of-its kind model to incorporate canines (dogs) and equines (ponies) into clinical, therapeutic treatment planning for Nemours patients.
The winning class who raises the most money will win a meet & greet with our miniature ponies Buc and Taco! Buc and Taco are two of our pet therapists registered through Pet Partners. The meet & greet will be held at Duval Charter School at Mandarin on National Therapy Animal Day, April 30th. The class will also be painting a canvas of a Spirit Horse to keep in their classroom as a trophy!
But most importantly, each and every advocate and supporter of our joint cause is a true hero! Your generosity will undoubtidly foster a positive and lastly impact within our local Jacksonville community. Further, each contribution earned directly supports the development and sustainability of the Nemours Animal Assisted counseling and therapeutic program and associated facilities.
ADAPT's mission and sole objective is simple--ensuring the accessibility of therapeutic resources for all children and community youth eligible for supplemental counseling and behavioral health intervention. Ultimately, Nemours' ADAPT mental health and behavioral health support program is facilitated and guided by one objective---animal guided and counselor facilitated therapeutic interventions yield impactful and lasting positive and holistic outcomes.
It is truly an honor gaining your dedication to our cause. DCSM's partnership and joint collaboration with Nemours' Mental Health Wellness program will ultimately foster the inception and continual growth of said program--Nemours' Speciality Care Program. Once again, this specialized therapeutic resource offers our communities youth access to animal-inclusive counseling as an additional and supplemental contemporary counseling opportunity and ubehavioral health intervention.
