I have worked as a teacher of students with visual impairments for 15 years. A year ago, I had the opportunity to join the Seattle Lighthouse for the Blind's Foundation Board. As a Foundation Board member, I have the unique opportunity to contribute to and connect folks with this incredible organization. The Lighthouse provides a wide range of support, training opportunities, and employment for people who are blind and visually impaired and Deafblind.
As an educator of young children, I know that one day my students will need accessible workplaces and opportunities to build independence and skills. The Lighthouse is making that happen, here and across the country through program development and planning for the future.
To learn more about the Lighthouse, please visit lhblind.org. Please consider helping me reach my goal of $2500.
Thank you!

About the DeafBlind Retreat
The DeafBlind Retreat creates opportunities for networking, connection, leadership and
autonomy through a variety of recreational and educational activities in a fully
accessible environment.
DeafBlind participants come from across the country and the world, along with many
volunteer interpreters who provide visual information, guide and interpreting to support
and create an environment that includes accessibility of all activities.
All DeafBlind program services offer a safe, supportive, and respectful environment;
linguistically and culturally appropriate services; and consumer involvement and input.
Our goal is to ensure maximum respect, autonomy, choice, and control over matters
impacting each participant.
