Hello! I serve as President on the Foundation Board at the Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc. in Seattle Washington. I am participating in our DeafBlind Retreat Campaign, with a goal to raise $2,500, which will cover the cost for 1 camper to attend the life-changing retreat for the entire week! This campaign will run throughout the summer, culminating in a benefit event held on-site at the Lighthouse on August 3rd. A bit about the Retreat:

The DeafBlind Retreat is a world renowned event held by the Lighthouse for many years, where DeafBlind individuals have gathered in a completely accessible environment to learn about new technologies, participate in fun and accessible recreational activities and of course, make lasting connections that last a lifetime. 

Due to the pandemic, and the nature of communicating as a DeafBlind individual, the Lighthouse has been unable to host this cherished event for three years. During that time, Lighthouse staff has taken the opportunity to refresh and reinvigorate the Retreat programming - this year the Retreat will be entirely staffed by DeafBlind individuals!
