This will be my 15th year participating in the Dempsey Challenge which is the major fundraising event for the Dempsey Centers, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey.
Patrick, who was born and raised in Maine, founded the Dempsey Center in 2008 along with his two sisters, to help provide care and support for people in Maine impacted by cancer after his mother, Amanda Dempsey, was diagnosed with cancer.
The Dempsey Centers, located in Lewiston & Westbrook, Maine make life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost.
100% of donations raised go directly toward providing free services at the Dempsey Centers for cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones.
