As an 18-year breast cancer survivor, I know all too well the horrible feeling of hearing the words "You Have Cancer." I was 39 years old and telling my three sons was so scary for them (and me). The Dempsey Center was just getting started, so I was not fortunate at the time of my diagnosis to receive all of the great services they offer free of charge.
I have, however, seen the Dempsey Center's facility and have attended a cooking workshop, and have heard testimonial after testimonial of what the Dempsey Center has done for so many families facing this horrible disease.
Patrick Dempsey had a vision when he founded The Dempsey Center--to make life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey--all at no cost!
I encourage you to take a bit of time to see it for yourself, whether that is online or in person at their Lewiston or Rock Row facilities.
