Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page for this year's Dempsey Challenge!

This might be my 6 year participating in the Dempsey challenge.  Not going to lie, I may have first signed up in hopes of getting a glimpse of Patrick. However soon after I learned my childhood friend, teammate, Debbie was building a team to help raise money for the center that she and her family had been using while "living" with cancer.   I reached out and asked if I could "Dempsey" for Debbie.  She and I reconnected and that year I decided to try the 100 miler.  Debbie said she would wait for me to complete the journey.  I would text her to go home, I was taking a little longer than I had anticipated.  She stayed, and what a wonderful feeling it was to cross that finish line and see Debbie in her wonder woman socks greet me with a hug and a t shirt that said Dempsey for Debbie.   The next two years I would cross that line and find Debbie and get my hug.   This year sadly Debbie will not be there as she lost her battle, but I know she will be with me every push of the pedal.   Debbie was a mother, friend, giver and supporter.  She was simple amazing.   "Get busy living" and "You can do hard things" were her mottos. ?
