Hi! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Dempsey Challenge. On September 20th, I'm riding 50 miles with my speaker trailer in tow - to challenge myself with the extra weight and hype up the other riders with music! It's a BIKE PARTY!
What's The Dempsey Challenge?
The Dempsey Challenge is an annual run/walk/ride fundraising event to benefit the Dempsey Center; a non-profit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey - all at no cost.
I first heard about the Dempsey Center through my brother, Matteo. He was diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma in 2013. During his cancer treatment, the Dempsey Center was a huge resource for him. We were so thankful this amazing place existed - let alone in our backyard in Maine. Thankfully, Teo is now cancer-free and living in Wyoming with his wife and twin sons where he builds gear and trains horses.
