This year’s Challenge is personal—it marks 19 years since I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Nearly two decades later, I’m grateful to be thriving—thanks to my daughter Ella, my amazing care team, and the steadfast support of family and friends.
In 2024, our first-time team The Midcoast McDreamys raised nearly $17,000. I personally raised over $10,000 and was honored to be designated a Dempsey Champion—a milestone that gave me the unforgettable opportunity to meet Patrick Dempsey himself. That moment, and the energy of the weekend, left me inspired and deeply moved.
This year, we’re back—and aiming to do it again.
The Dempsey Challenge supports the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by Patrick to make life better for people impacted by cancer. The Center provides free support services—physical, emotional, and spiritual—for patients, survivors, and care partners at any stage of their journey.
As both a cancer survivor and someone who works in the oncology field, I know how essential this kind of care is. Cancer touches every aspect of life, and the Dempsey Center surrounds people with the support they need—at no cost.
