My Dempsey Challenge Story

This year, cancer became part of my story. In the spring, I was diagnosed with low grade, well-differentiated liposarcoma, and since then, my world has changed in ways I never imagined. I’ve had surgeries, faced big challenges, and continue to work through the physical and emotional toll. Through it all, one thing has remained clear: no one should have to go through cancer alone.

That’s why I’m participating in the Dempsey Challenge on September 20. I’ll be running a 5K to raise funds for the Dempsey Center—a place that provides free support for anyone impacted by cancer, whether patient, survivor, caregiver, or loved one. Their work makes life a little easier, lighter, and more hopeful during a time when everything feels heavy.

My fundraising goal is $300, but truly, I want to raise even more. Every single dollar helps provide free resources like counseling, support groups, nutrition, movement, and so much more to people walking this difficult path. I’ll run hard and push myself because I believe your donations are worth it—and because the people supported by the Dempsey Center deserve it.

There are no barriers to joining this cause and no limits to what we can do when we come together as a community. With your help, I can reach—and surpass—my goal. Gifts of any amount make a real difference.
