Carrie couldn’t have imagined that after watching the 1st season of Grey’s Anatomy while in nursing school,  that she would work in Patrick Dempsey’s hometown as a nurse at Central ME Medical Center

Then, 10 years ago, Carrie was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was the Dempsey Center, which Patrick founded in honor of his mother to support people impacted by cancer, that helped her manage.??

The Dempsey Center offered counseling services to her two young daughters who didn't understand what was happening to their mom. The center also offers PT, massage, nutrition education, and many resources—all at NO COST.

Since healing, Carrie has made it her mission to raise tons of money to pay it forward to all impacted by cancer. And she sometimes gets to hang with Dr. McDreamy! Knowing her as a very dear friend for over 30 years, I am sure that also helped her healing  ; )
