Ensuring that all patients and survivors have access to high-quality cancer care is a cause that is important and highly personal to me. Access to such care can be particularly challenging in rural areas, and I am grateful that The Dempsey Center has recognized and addressed this need. I hope you will join me in supporting this excellent endeavor — if it's enough to inspire me to run, you know it's a worthy cause. Or there's a bear chasing me. But in this case, it's a worthy cause. 

The Dempsey Challenge is the premier fundraising event for the Dempsey Center, a nonprofit founded by actor Patrick Dempsey. The Dempsey Center makes life better for people impacted by cancer by easing the side effects of cancer by improving their physical, emotional, social, familial, and functional well-being at any point in their cancer journey — all at no cost.
