We’re traveling back in time to the 1980s where it all started.
Captain Underwear, Queen Appétit, Commander Current and Princess Pantaloons are calling on Jacksonville’s finest citizens to join the fight against the oppressive forces of chronic poverty. Team up with the DESC DEFENDERS as they journey through time over the last 40 years. They’ll unite the powers of human kindness to bring emergency financial assistance, case management, clothing and groceries to those struggling in poverty.

Many people at DESC knew my Grandpap, Jim Lutz, as "the guy with truck." He dedicated every Tuesday and Thursday (and sometimes Monday and Wednesday) to loading up donated food and bringing to DESC. He was the guy everyone knew had a truck and could haul donations around Jacksonville. Because of my Grandpap, I've been with DESC for three years now. From volunteer to intern, and now graphic designer, among other things, and I have him to thank for all of it. So, I've created this team in honor of my Grandpap, because he had a big place in his heart for DESC, and so do I. Thank you for donating, it means the world to me and all those whose lives it will greatly impact.
