Please join me on my journey to show the world what autistic people can do! I am autistic and have ADHD, and have many neurodivergent people in my immediate family. My goal is to help other neurodivergent people as I navigate what being autistic means for me as well. My journey is also one of self care - I've struggled profoundly and am trying to take a step toward being healthier and hopefully living longer.
The WDW Dopey Challenge is a very tough one - that's four races in four days, complete with 3am wakeups! It's a 5k, a 10k, a Half Marathon and a Full Marathon. Training for this is going to be the toughest I've ever done and I could use your support.
By supporting me, you're also supporting other autistic people who could use a little help in their lives. Running on Dougie's team means helping families with support tools, education and work opportunities.
Your support means the world to me, and it means helping other kids and their families having new and better opportunities to get the most out of life.
Thank you!
Why Are You Doing This To Yourself?
Supporting other autistic people means so much to me. I wish I could have known more about autism when I was a lonely, quirky kid who didn't understand why I saw the world differently than other people do. Having knowledge, support and understanding would have meant so much to me. I want that for other kids, and adults who are struggling with being neurodivergent as well.
Why am I running?
I want my journey to mean something, and show other autistic folks that being different is not being less than.
I need to be healthier, and I've neglected my self care for too long
Why all these races?
It's not only a big challenge, it's a big opportunity to help
Having a goal means that I can keep myself on better track.
