I have never attempted a distance like this, but am beyond motivated to acheive this goal for the Children's Heart Foundation.
In my favorite job I've ever had, I coordinated the deliveries of newborns with congenital heart defects. This took months of planning, coordination across multiple hospital systems, and training clinicians to "catch" the newborn from the delivery table and literally run with them to the cardiac cath lab for immediate surgical intervention, with about 50 clinicians in attendance. There were big wins, and there were big losses that I will never forget.
Two of my fellow RNs and dear friends were heart warrior moms themselves. Becky lost her little girl, Sydney, to transposition of the great arteries. Amanda adopted her son, Jeremiah, and brought him through hypoplastic right heart syndrome, a ventricular septal defect, and transposition of the great arteries. I'm asking you to donate to the Children's Heart Foundation for them. It's an honor to run in their names.
Please donate to this amazing organization that has dedicated 26 years and $16 million to 155 projects to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of congenital heart defects.
My goal is to EXCEED $1500. Let's do this.
