I’m participating in this year’s Diva Regatta the annual women at the helm race at Western Carolina Sailing Club both to empower women and girls who would like to become more involved in the sport of sailing and to raise money for Safe Harbor. This organization and the event are really important to me, and I’m working hard to support them.
Safe Harbor is a private non-profit organization that provides safety and resources for survivors of domestic violence and their children in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee Counties. Services include a 24/7 help line, safe emergency shelters, advocacy, legal assistance, transitional housing, and the support survivors need to heal and to start new lives. As you can imagine this has been both increasingly necessary and increasingly difficult during the pandemic.
