I'm participating in DogFest North Central because I love dogs and know the joy they bring to our lives each and every day. I also believe in Canine Companions and their mission to provide expertly trained service dogs to adults, children and veterans with disabilities FREE of charge.
Leading up to DogFest North Central, I am raising money to support the Canine Companions mission. The impact these dogs have on the lives of people with disabilities is incredible. Help me get to my fundraising goal by donating online so we can get more of these amazing Canine Companions service dogs into the lives of those who need them. One particular dog story from 2017 for you! Our special Brimley...
As sad day for us, but a beautiful day in heaven. We said goodbye to Brimley. A precious dog we raised as a puppy, who graduated to another precious soul Patty Wilfong. For all of you who knew and loved Patty and knew Brim as her service dog, please know we loved him from the time he was 8 weeks old until he left us to be with Patty when he was 18 months old. Before Patty died she asked us to have the honor of taking him back. And when she got her wings we did. He was the best. Always happy to serve. Happy to hug and cuddle, and he loved to lay out back in the hot sun and grass... all day.... with Scotty. He went on to be a Therapy Dog with Angela Jude and visited Fairview Hospital. He made people smile. Today we all sent him to Patty over that Rainbow Bridge. We stayed until he was well on his way. Held him. Hugged him and thanked him. He had a beautiful ride. He deserved it. And so did she. I keep picturing her running with him. We will miss you PAPA BEAR......... thanks for the love.
