Our Building for the Future Capital Fund has been established to support our Midtown Miami, Little Havana and Fort Lauderdale Health Centers. With these expansions and renovations, Care Resource is poised to continue our history of care for the most vulnerable in our communities. We have four locations throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties and are a safety net for 1.5 million low-income, uninsured, and underinsured individuals.
At the heart of the creation of the Building for the Future Capital Fund is the reimagining of our Midtown Health Center and Administrative Headquarters. This expansion has transformed our former 22,000 square foot two-story building located at 3510 Biscayne Boulevard, into a new innovative 55,000 square foot, seven-story state-of-the-art community health center that opened in mid 2022. It permits us to double in three years the number of individuals we serve and will add a new pediatrics unit in addition to medical, dental and an array of comprehensive preventive and social support services to address the holistic needs of children, adolescents and adults.
Currently underway is the relocation of our Little Havana health center to a new and larger nearby facility. The demand for services has been unrelenting since we opened our health center in the heart of Little Havana in mid-2014. This new health center will expand access to our comprehensive clinical, social, food pantry and nutritional services and significantly improves health outcomes for minority, uninsured and underinsured adults, adolescents, and children.
