I am dedicating my birthday this year to the children who lost their fathers during the 2020 Artsakh War, and to help give them a summer to cherish. For most children, summer camp is a time to celebrate the end of school, have adventures and make new friends. It’s a magical and memorable experience. 

 

For children who have experienced great hardships — like the loss of a parent during war — camp holds even more significance. It is therapeutic and healing. It distracts the mind and decompresses the soul.

 

Every year, the Fund for Armenian Relief (FAR) sponsors a beautiful two-week camp experience for kids from its “Children of Armenia Sponsorship Program” (CASP) who come from a variety of difficult backgrounds. There are many more children in the CASP program than FAR is able to sponsor for summer camp. Ayo!, FAR's crowdfunding platform, wants to raise $15,000 to send 75 kids who lost their fathers in the 2020 Artsakh War. For them, camp is a renewing and therapeutic way to work through their trauma. During the camp, children form life-long friendships. They learn and develop new skills, sight-see, and participate in a full range of fun and exciting activities. They are physically active and eat regular and balanced meals.

The all-inclusive two-week experience is only $200 per child. The more you can help me raise, the more children can attend camp. Any donation amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your generosity and for helping me spread the word about the incredible work of Ayo! and FAR.
