Two years ago I was asked to teach a Junior Achievement program to a class of second graders.  They provided detailed instructions and materials that made being a teacher very easy.  Through the 5 session course the children took a look at an imaginary town, learned about different jobs that people could have, how money flows from paycheck to stores to the government to the police and other public servants and back to a paycheck.  I was impressed with the questions the children had and how well the materials matched the childrens age.

I learned that Junior Achievement provides financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurial programs to over 9,000 students in 6 counties here on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Each course a little more indepth and all age appropriate.  I decided I wanted to help raise funds to support this organization that is helping to build a strong workforce right here in Dorchester County.  I signed up for the Dorchester Bowl-a-Thon because 100% of the funds raised stay in my county helping our children.
