Hi! My name is Hannah Quigley and I'm thrilled to be running in the 127th Boston Marathon on behalf of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism. I am 19 years old and a sophomore at Boston College studying neuroscience with the goal of attending medical school. This past year I completed two half marathons and now I am looking forward to facing the entire 26.2!
The Boston Marathon is an important part of the culture at Boston College. The course weaves right through campus and the entire student body has a day off class to cheer for the runners. As I watched the race last year, I was deeply inspired by the energy and commitment of all the runners. The professional runners are obviously a thrill to witness, but I was especially moved by the charity runners who have given so much back to the Boston community in order to be there. And that is how I found myself here today, honored to be affiliated with the Flutie Foundation and training for the run of a lifetime.
The Flutie Foundation works to help people and families with autism live life to the fullest. They provide the tools for people and families to be safe, supported and informed at all times. The foundation helps more than 10,000 individuals and families affected by autism each year through programs including adaptive summer camps, safety devices and equipment, and assistive technology grants. I hope to help the Flutie Foundation extend that hand to a wider community through the awareness and funds that I can provide. Thank you for reading my page and considering a donation toward this amazing organization.
