Hello everyone! Thank you so much for interacting with my page, learning why I am running, and hopefully donating to support an AMAZING foundation.
I am a recently graduated D1 soccer player who is looking for a new athletic challenge. As a brand new professional, my weeks consist of going to work and going for long runs exploring Boston. While at Boston University, multiple teammates and fellow BU athletes ran the Boston Marathon and others across the US. Some of my fondest memories are lining Comm. Ave on Patriots Day to cheer everyone on. Each and every runner, accomplished or novice, running for the 10th time or to cross an item off their bucket list, inspired me, and last spring I decided I had to participate. In the fall of 2022, I ran two half marathons and loved every second, from the training and preparation to the camaraderie on the course and the satisfaction of reaching a new athletic goal.
I have applied to and been accepted as a member of the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism's marathon team. I could not be more excited to be running in support of a foundation whose mission is to help people and families that have been affected by autism. The foundation is committed to giving back and working towards a world where people with autism lead productive lives where they are included, respected, and actively engaged in their communities. Helping people with autism is a cause that is important to me and while in middle and high school I mentored classmates with autism and volunteered in support of numerous Special Olympics events. My classmates were some of the most amazing people I've known, and have inspired me and everyone around them. Patriots Day 2023 is going to be special!
I am going to accomplish a new athletic goal and help some wonderful people at the same time. A huge thanks to the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for welcoming me to the team and to all of you for donating!
