The Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism was founded in 1998 by former Boston College and NFL quarterback, Doug Flutie and his wife Laurie in honor of their son, Dougie, who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. The Flutie Foundation's mission is to help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest. We are able to do this through our programs and activities that improve the quality of everyday life for people and families affected by autism along seven key dimensions that are critical to living each day fully. We aim to provide a path for education and/or employment during the day; opportunities for physical and social activity outside of work/school; and the tools to be safe, supported, and informed at all times.

Kevin's Marathon Journey and Inspiration
Shortly after running my frist marathon in 2021, I was inspired by an incredible organization in New York City's Central Park called Achilles International. Their mission is to transform the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection. They offer various athletic programs including weekly workouts, the "Achilles Freedom Team" - which serves wounded military personnel and veterans, "Achilles Kids" - which provides training/race opportunities and an in-school program for children with disabilities, and the "TriAchilles Team" - the triathlon team.
I have served as a volunteer/guide for atheletes with visual/physical/mental disabilities and I want to share some of this inspiartion with you. Please watch the following short video of my friend Francesco, director of Achilles NYC.
