2023 Boston Marathon®

Jocelyn Klofas

About me!

My name is Jocelyn Klofas, I have been running since I was a freshman in high school. I ran cross country and track for all four years of high school and college.

Upon graduating college with my degree in marketing I missed the team spirit and wanted to coach. That led me to teaching high school special education in Boston Public Schools and coaching indoor and outdoor track at East Boston High School. (Where we’ve been city champions for the past 6 years!) Currently I'm teaching in our moderate disabilities program where I have the privilege of teaching amazing high school students with Autism. The goal of our program is to focus on life skills, community involvement, and job training. It is the absolute best part of my day and the most rewarding to be around such incredible students every day. I try to share my love of fitness with my students by doing yoga with them and emphasizing the importance of movement in and out of my classroom. Which has aligned me perfectly with Dougie's team!

I have run 7 marathons and am trying to complete a marathon in all 50 states! Last year I ran the Chicago Marathon and Philadelphia Marathon and no surprise my students were the best cheer team! Little did I know while running Philadelphia I was pregnant with my daughter. Genevieve was born on 8/23/22 and getting back to running has been a humbling and wonderful experience for healing postpartum. I’ve always said I wanted to run Boston the year I turn 30 and here we are! Now it's not only about turning 30, but coming out stronger being a mom AND getting to run for a program that is so close to my heart. It's an honor to be running for Dougie's team and I look forward to the next few months of training and fundraising!
