I am @ 50 year old stroke survivor running my first 1/2 marathon, from Natick MA, now living my best life in Naples Florida.

After suffering a massive stroke in 2021,I set it as a personal goal/ physical challenge to not only get back to Run Disney races, but to go further than I ever have before, So I set my sights on the Marathon weekend Half Marathon, My previous furthest distance is a 10K. And I still don't consider myself a "runner" I'm not that fast and I do run walk intervals, but I get it done!

When looking for a charity to do the race with I saw the Flutie foundation was participating with my race and I jumped on the chance to apply. Having grown up in Natick, Where Doug was our hometown hero, I was excited for this opportunity. I also have 3 close friends raising children with autism, who I care about very much, so I am honored to run this for Claire, Nina & Ben, and their amazing parents who tirelessly work to provide a wonderful childhood, with all the supports they need in place to live their best lives.
As they daily push through their challenges, I will continue to push myself in my own stroke recovery and to get across the finish line and to raise funds for such a worthy cause along the way.
